The European Office of Cyprus (EOC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation based in Nicosia, with a representation office in Brussels and in Athens. It was co-founded in 2007 by 18 organisations from a wide spectrum of sectors and interests, such as academic institutions, local authorities, banking and legal sector, as well as the cultural, tourism and youth.
Today, EOC counts 35 members (all the public and private universities of Cyprus, four public universities from Greece, the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus, a number of research institutes and VET centres, as well as the business and industry community in Cyprus). EOC provides inclusive information on EU legislation, advisory services on EU policies and programmes (grants and contracts) on education and training, research and innovation, as well as trans-national partnership opportunities for education, research and innovation projects.
EOC Brussels office collaborates with more than 250 regional representation offices and with European sectoral networks (European Regions for Innovation and Research Network - ERRIN, Informal Group of RTD Liaison Offices – IGLO, etc.).
Since its foundation, EOC promotes multiple reciprocal relationships among institutional sectors (public, private, academic). EOC supports and brings together its member-Universities /VET centres/ Enterprises to an open dialogue and cooperation for the design of actions and activities that can foster employability, socio-educational and professional development. These initiatives take the form of seminars, workshops, round-tables, brokerage events, open-days on a yearly basis.
